North Notts Writing Competition

The North Notts Writing Competition (formerly Short Story Competition) opened to entries on Saturday 1st June and closes at midnight on Wednesday 31st July. The theme this year is the Chesterfield Canal and Bassetlaw’s industrial heritage, there are three categories:

  • Story of up to 6,000 words for ages 15 and over
  • Poem of up to 40 lines for ages 15 and over
  • Story on the theme of inventions for children aged between seven and 14 years

The finalists will be invited to the very first North Notts Literary Festival, where extracts will be performed, and the winners announced.
