Retford Cricket Club is the place to be on a Friday night. There is something for everyone — the field is packed with over 60 juniors and in the background those adults who are feeling energetic can have a go at bootcamp or ladies’ cricket; whilst for those wanting to relax — the bar is always open and the BBQ is smoking.
The club operates two senior teams catering for all ages and abilities; from the dedicated to the recreational occasional players and is always open to new members.
On the social front, the club are holding a ‘Festival of Fun’ for all the family on Sunday 23rd June. The day starts with a dog show at 12.00pm, followed by ferret racing at 3.00pm and rounding off with some live music. Entry to the event is free, however to save time on the day, please complete a registration form in advance if you wish to enter into the dog show. These can be found at www.retford.cc along with details of the different categories.
Elsewhere on the field, you’ll be able to taste an array of locally brewed beers, grab something to eat at the BBQ and challenge yourself on the inflatable assault course and rodeo bull. And for those wishing to try out their cricket skills… see how fast you can bowl.
The club welcomes all new players, from five years old — men’s training is at 6.00pm on a Thursday, juniors and ladies training is 6.00pm on a Friday (opposite Morrisons). Just turn up to take part!
