Retford Bowling Green members have been making the most of the long summer heatwave with their annual weekend bowls tour to Sunderland and a day bowls trip to Bridlington. Both trips were highly successful and lots of fun was had by all. The club has hosted a number of touring sides in return and, as usual, have been congratulated on its hospitality. With the season drawing to a close, members look forward to their competitions finals weekend which is always preceded by a highly popular barbecue. No league trophies have been won this year, although two members, Joan Mather and Liz Illger, have managed to win through to national finals.
