The Nottinghamshire Festival of Science and Curiosity takes place each February with a range of school-based activities and public events designed to promote curiosity and engagement with science, technology, engineering, maths and research across the county.

The Festival is produced by local education charity Ignite! Check out this year’s event from Monday 10th to Friday 21st February. Some of the public events local to us are:

Star Makers 2 Film Screening

This captivating sequel, StarMakers 2, takes you behind-the-scenes at the Joint European Torus (JET) during its final year of groundbreaking scientific operations. Followed by a Q&A.

Come along to the Bridge Skills Hub in Worksop for a day of hands-on interactive activities from University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Huddersfield, AtkinsRéalis, North Notts College and GXO.

Stories in the Stars Planetarium Show

Friday 21st February, 10.00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm and 2.00pm
Within the Nottingham Trent University inflatable digital planetarium we will explore together what’s up above at night. Fly with us to Jupiter, make your own constellations, and hear stories about heroes in the sky.
