October saw the ladies of the Inner Wheel Club of Warsop joining in with a craft afternoon where they made gifts and cards for Christmas. President Jean was very happy that she was able to make things as she is not crafty. The members enjoyed the afternoon and went home with beautiful things and big smiles. Another afternoon is in the planning stages and this time will include children and grandchildren of members. Due to the success of the afternoon, the club’s crafty fairies Ruth and Sharlotte are looking to make this a regular event.
The start of November saw President Jean hosting her Charter at the Hostess restaurant. The keynote speaker was Nottinghamshire’s chief constable Kate Meynall, who gave an interesting presentation that was enjoyed by all attendees. Fun and friendship was defiantly the theme of the evening. President Jean was accompanied by Association Treasurer Gloria in laying a poppy wreath from the club in honour of the men and women who served our country. The end of November was the annual Christmas Fayre at the John Fretwell Centre. This was supported by local people and fellow clubs. A very festive atmosphere and some early Christmas gifts were brought, with Mary Pay’s lucky dip bags a firm favourite.
The start of December saw the club hold its annual flower arranging class. This well-attended favourite event saw lots of creative arrangements made with the guidance of Christine and Mavis. The club ended 2024 with its Christmas meal at the Hostess restaurant. Andrew and the team from the Hostess made the evening wonderful with the fabulous food and great service, as always.
Warsop Inner Wheel members are looking forward to the coming year with more fun activities and time for friendship.
