Family Concert: The Sounds of Music

Join Worksop Library for a magical musical tour! Enjoy live performances of songs from artists like Pink Floyd and Beyoncé, exploring the origin of the sounds and the cultural heritage they stem from. This concert series aims to demonstrate how musical sounds are created and then used in the music we know and love. From the invention of the electric guitar to the synthesiser, watch, listen, and play!
The event is suitable for children aged five to 11 and their families. Running time is 60 minutes, plus time to meet the musicians and try out instruments. Tickets are £4.00 for library members and £7.00 for non-members. Booking is advised.
Theatre for Under 5s: The Magical Major Oak: ‘Winter and Sparking Snow’

Be transported to the legendary land of The Magical Major Oak in an immersive, sensory storytelling experience from Nottingham Playhouse. Featuring inspiring storytelling to ignite the imagination and a host of woodland friends to meet, The Magical Major Oak: Winter and the Sparkling Snow is a captivating interactive adventure for children aged two to four. Tickets are £2.00 per person, and booking is advised.
Jazz Steps Live: Matt Ratcliffe ‘Unity’

Heritage Talk: Shireoaks Colliery

Shireoaks Colliery holds a unique place in mining history, proving that the ‘concealed’ coalfield was workable and paving the way for many local collieries. It helped transform Worksop from an agricultural backwater into an industrial powerhouse. The colliery operated for 137 years, impacting thousands of local lives.
Join former miner and mining historian Phil Whitehead for an engaging talk on the engineering, endeavour, and enterprise surrounding this historic colliery. Tickets are £3.00, and early booking is highly advised.
Worksop Library’s Christmas Market
Saturday 30th November, 10.00am to 2.00pm
Enjoy treats from local bakers and browse handmade items, including art, candles, wreaths, and jewellery. Take part in free Christmas crafts with Now Church and From the Heart Charity, or try the popular badge-making machine to create your own festive badge. There will also be live music, and Father Christmas will be there to chat with the children. Entry to the Christmas Market is free, and no booking is required—just drop by!
