Summer Brass Proms
Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band bring the summer concert season to a close at The Crossing, Newcastle Street, Worksop on Saturday 20th July, with a rousing Summer Brass Proms. Consistently in the top 15 World Brass Band Ranking, Carlton Main’s calibre is always demonstrated by its excellent performances and imaginative programme planning.
As well as a busy schedule of major concerts and private engagements, the band also competes at the highest level in the world’s leading major contests alongside the very best and most prestigious bands in the world, including Cory, Black Dyke and Brighouse and Rastrick Bands to name just a few. After a very positive 2018 the band are looking forward greatly to what lies ahead this year.
The band’s resident conductor Ian McElligott studied at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall and is an Associate of the Royal College of Music, London and Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music, London. As a Major, he is proud to have served in his final appointment as Director of Music to the Band of Her Majesty’s Coldstream Guards.
The band will play at The Crossing Church and Centre, Newcastle Street, Worksop S80 2AT, on Saturday 20th July, at 7.30pm. The doors will open 6.45pm.
