Boughton Art Group is a small group of amateur artists that meet on Monday every week, except bank holidays, at Walesby Village Hall. The group have professional artists come to hold workshops usually one evening per month and another artist to do a full day workshop once a month. read more

The Friends of Bassetlaw Museum have organised an interesting talk entitled ‘Talking Stock’, to be held on Wednesday 17th May at 7.30pm. The talk is to be held in the Grove Street Methodist Church Hall, Retford. There will be an admission charge of £2 for members and £4 for non-members. read more

The Dukeries Singers

Looking back at my article a year ago, I find that once again we are bathed in glorious sunshine and even more importantly, Ash has been our Guide/Mentor/Musical Director for a year and is still as inspiring and enthusiastic as when he began with us. We enjoy our rehearsals under his leadership and choir practise generally goes with a swing (literally). We do enjoy some songs with a bit of syncopation! read more

Dukeries U3A

At the Dukeries U3A March meeting, the speaker was Robert Mee, who gave an amusing and interesting talk with slides entitled ‘Bradshaw’s and an Early Railway Tour’. At the Dukeries U3A we have two walking groups — The Ramblers, who meet fortnightly and who go on walks of six to eight miles, and The Amblers, whose walks are usually two to three miles in length. read more
