Braithwell Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association started their 2019 programme with a very informative talk by RSPB volunteer Sue Clifton on ‘Birds in your Garden’. She gave an impressive photographic presentation of the top 20 birds that can be seen in and around gardens in South Yorkshire and the importance of the correct type of feed suitable for each species.

Future events include a members’ only 36th anniversary party with musical entertainment in March, a talk about ‘celebrity encounters’ by Gerry Kersey from Radio Sheffield, a demonstration and sales of spring planting as well as a theatre visit, lunches and craft days. Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association will be supporting the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity in 2019, starting with a fundraising day on 21st March in York.

The group warmly welcome visitors and new members so if you are interested in joining them or require further information please contact Pamela at or 07585 663434 or visit their Facebook page — Yorkshire Countrywomen Braithwell Branch.
