Apple Day East Markham 2017 takes place all day in and around the Village Hall and adjacent Heritage Orchard on Sunday 1st October from 10.00am to 4.00pm. There will be 300-plus varieties of apples, free apple tasting, a cider bar featuring Scrumpy Wasp Cider produced in the village and a new apple recipe book. read more

On 31st July the local branch of The Royal British Legion held a short commemoration to those who fought in the Third Battle of Ypres which became known as Passchendaele. Wreaths were laid by the president of the branch and the chair of Bassetlaw District Council. read more

A superheroes workshop on Sunday 9th July proved to be a super-duper, fun-filled afternoon for a group of five to 11 year olds. These children are in the Siblings Group at Bluebell Wood Hospice and the workshop, run by arts therapist Claire Vinning with helpers from Bluebell Wood, gave the children the opportunity to create their very own superhero or supervillain. read more
