Soo, a six-year-old affectionate cat, is just the latest victim, dumped by her owner and rescued by an RSPCA Inspector. Before Soo can be re-homed she requires complex surgery — a total ear canal ablation and a vental bulla osteotomy costing £450. read more

Charity Golf Day in aid of Bassetlaw Hospice

A call to all golfers. On Thursday 22nd June, Retford Golf Club will be the venue for a very special Golf Day in aid of Bassetlaw Hospice. The four ball Stableford competition, which is open to both ladies and gents and teams, can be any combination (men’s handicap 28, and ladies’ 36), will be teeing off from 10.00am through to 2.00pm. read more

Looking back at my article a year ago, I find that once again we are bathed in glorious sunshine and even more importantly, Ash has been our Guide/Mentor/Musical Director for a year and is still as inspiring and enthusiastic as when he began with us. We enjoy our rehearsals under his leadership and choir practise generally goes with a swing (literally). We do enjoy some songs with a bit of syncopation! read more
