Misterton Gala

Misterton Gala

Misterton’s annual Gala is on Saturday 6th July from 12.00pm to 5.00pm and will be held on the Old School Field. There is space for registered disabled drivers at the front of the library, but, with the event back in the village this year, visitors are asked to walk or cycle to it. There is parking, however, in the car park at the front of the Methodist Church. read more

Volunteers needed at town support group

The Macular Society

A leading sight loss charity is calling for volunteers to help run a Gainsborough based support group, for people with macular disease. The Macular Society is appealing for anyone living locally who would be willing to give up some of their time to help organise and run the group’s monthly meetings, with help from the charity’s services and volunteering team. read more

Beckingham and Saundby History Group will be holding an Open Evening on Thursday 27th June 2019, at The Willow Works, Old Trent Road, Beckingham at 7.00pm. Michelle Beadle will be giving a talk on ‘Hull’s Pioneering Aviator Amy Johnson, her Life and Achievements’. Entry will be £2.00 for non-members and includes tea and coffee refreshments and biscuits. read more

Gainsborough and District Flower Club

Gainsborough and District Flower Club meets on the fourth Thursday of every month, at the Blues Club, North Street, Gainsborough DN21 2HU, start time 7.15pm. They are affiliated to NAFAS, but you don’t have to be a flower arranger to join them. Members enjoy flower demonstrations by national demonstrators, workshops, social events and trips out. read more

Girlguiding Gainsborough

Join a worldwide community of girls who have fun, learn new skills, make a difference in their community and get their voices heard. Girls can join a Rainbows group from age five up to seven years old, Brownies is for girls aged seven to 10 and Guides is for girls aged 10 to 14. From the very start, being a Rainbow is all about having the space to try new things and have fun. Rainbows learn by doing, they get their hands dirty, do sports, arts and crafts and play games. read more

I have displayed over the year that I have the diligence to share wonderful imagery generated by myself of different perspectives of the town. I took this one shown more recently from standing on a path near the central railway line that runs parallel with the path leading to the park on Recreational Hill (alias, Rec Hill). I used a phone application to edit the shot to give this picture more of a painting feel. read more

Make friends, bring friends, be friends. Morton and Gainsborough WI’s forward thinking, innovative, fun meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month. They always have lovely cakes, cookies and treats and refreshments too.
Their meetings have an eclectic mix of presenters, speakers and lovely social evenings, all at Morton Village Hall, from 7.15pm to 9.15pm. read more
