Dog training – rain or shine!

RSPCA Doncaster and Rotherham

Thanks to a generous grant from Support Adoption For Pets, the local RSPCA Animal Centre can offer dog training and behavioural support, all year round, in all weathers. The new canopy completes a big investment in training facilities at the South Yorkshire Animal Centre, Bawtry. read more

Union Gap did it again, giving yet another outstanding performance, making it a brilliant night at The Blues Club, Gainsborough. We have already been able to raise funds for four local charities this year, due to the success of previous events. read more

See Rattlejag Morris on Boxing Day

Rattlejag Morris

If you are out and about on Boxing Day this year, Rattlejag Morris, based in Retford, will be ‘dancing out’, as is the old tradition at rural pubs, and everyone is welcome to join them — maybe even having a chance to dance.  As in previous years, they will be taking their local ‘plough morris’ style to the Blue Bell Inn, in Gringley-on-the-Hill, at 12.00pm, on 26th December and at 1.00pm to the Blacksmith’s Arms in Everton. read more

Scunthorpe Cooperative Junior Choir returns to Gainsborough this Christmas

After over ten years, Scunthorpe Cooperative Choir will be hosting its own Christmas concert in the beautiful All Saints’ Church, in Gainsborough.  This will be a wonderful celebration of all the work the choir does across a wide range of ages, and will include performances from both Middle and Main Choirs. read more

Our forward thinking, innovative, fun meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month. Our meetings include lovely cakes, cookies and treats, refreshments for everyone and we host an eclectic mix of presenters, speakers and lovely social evenings. read more

Misterton teenager completes 50-mile bike ride

13-year-old Fabian Bott pulled into Misterton Fire Station to cheers, as he completed a 50-mile cycle ride on Saturday 3rd November, in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. He arrived back in Misterton at the Fire Station, where his family had organised a coffee morning. In all, £1,286 was raised — well done, Fabian! read more

A brand new set of baby weighing scales was presented by Lion Bob Fox, to Charlotte Finn and Miranda Cottingham who run the Walkeringham Playgroup. This donation will enable mums to still be able to weigh their babies following the closure of the Surestart Centre in Misterton. read more

Santa visits RSPCA

Santa Claus is coming to town on Sunday 16th December! Come and visit him at the RSPCA South Yorkshire Animal Centre, Great North Road, Bawtry, and get involved with the festive cheer. There is a performance by a very special Christmas choir and lots of mince pies at the ready; it’s sure to be fun for the whole family. Join us from 12.00pm to 3.00pm, for refreshments, stalls and a tombola; all of which help to raise vital funds for the care and treatment of local animals. read more
