Knaith Hall

You will, once again, receive a warm welcome to the lovely gardens and riverside walks at Knaith Hall, for the snowdrop walk on Sunday 17th February. Enjoy the hint of spring in the air as you wander through the delightful snowdrop and aconite woods beside the mighty River Trent, in this park-like garden with its intriguing church, step inside to discover some of its curious and fascinating history. For the more energetic there is also a longer marked walk on offer (45 minutes return) to the unique Gate Burton Chateau, which sits on a knoll like a doll’s house with striking views across the Trent Valley. It will be open from 11.00am to 3.00pm and the entrance fee is £2.50. Delicious cakes and tea/coffee will be available beside a cosy log fire in the hall.

Knaith Hall (DN21 5PE) is at Knaith on the A156 Lincoln/Gainsborough road, three miles south of Gainsborough. Taking place by kind permission of Mr and Mrs J Burke, all proceeds are for the Church of St Mary Knaith, which sits within the grounds of the hall. This fascinating church will be open to view during the snowdrop walk. Dogs on leads care welcome. Stout shoes or boots are recommended. For more information call 01427 611696.
